In May 2025, PEMCO International and Wagner S.p.A. proudly launched the very first Electrostatic Powder Enamel Academy, a unique event designed to bring enamel users together, share expertise, and tackle the challenges of complex applications head-on.
Hosted at Wagner’s headquarters in Valmadrera, Italy, the two-day Academy brought together professionals from across the tank, appliance, barbecue, and pipe manufacturing sectors.

The programme was built around a balance of theoretical sessions and hands-on demonstrations, equipping participants with both knowledge and practical skills.
The May edition explored:
- Enamel composition and production processes: including milling formulas, quality control, and certification standards,
- Electrostatic powder application fundamentals: charging techniques, booth operations, robot solutions, and defect prevention,
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving: participants brought their own complex parts, creating an open forum for collaborative solutions.
Johan Strubbe, Electrostatic Powder Enamel Specialist at PEMCO, noted:
“This was the first time something like this has been organised. We shared best practices for difficult-to-enamel parts and explored solutions together. It was a big success!”
Following the success of the inaugural event, PEMCO and Wagner are excited to announce the next Enamel Academy session, taking place 21–23 October 2025.
While May’s event focused broadly on appliance and component applications, October’s Academy will centre on boiler enamelling.
The programme will feature:
Expert talks on perfect circular and longitudinal welding for boilers.
A deep dive into shotblasting techniques – soft vs strong.
Comprehensive sessions on electrostatic enamel powder composition, milling, and quality control.
Practical troubleshooting demonstrations to address low output and poor quality in enamel shops.
Open discussions where participants can bring or send their most complex parts for group analysis.
